Two of the most moving extracts from Elgar's mighty oratorio, The Dream of Gerontius, the hugely popular Rachmaninov Rhapsody and then more Elgar in the Enigma Variations. And our soloist is both a renowned concert pianist and film star! If you have seen the quirky semi-autobiographical Alan Bennett film The Lady in the Van then you have also seen and heard our soloist for this concert, the fabulous Clare Hammond.
